The reality of childcare compliance

Practitioners are drowning in paperwork.

You became an early years practitioner because you care about children. But every observation, every policy review, every risk assessment and care plan update takes time away from the people who need you most. Generic tools were never designed with childcare in mind. So practitioners make do, patch things together, and spend hours on paperwork that should be far simpler. Clariti was built to change that.

Regulatory answers.
Plain English.
From the law itself.

Most compliance questions don't need an opinion. They need an answer. Ask Clariti reads the relevant legislation and frameworks for your nation and gives you a plain English response grounded in what the law actually says. No interpretation, no best practice, no guesswork. Just clarity.

📚
Answers from legislation only Every response is drawn from Acts, regulations and statutory guidance. General internet sources or AI-generated opinion are never used.
⚖️
Fact, never opinion Ask Clariti will never tell you what you should do or what best practice looks like. It tells you what the law says. Professional judgement stays with you.
🗺️
Tailored to your nation Responses reflect the legislation in force where you work, so every answer is relevant to where you are and the setting you run.

What is the legal adult-to-child ratio for two-year-olds in a registered daycare setting in Scotland?
Under the Regulation of Care (Requirements as to Care Services) (Scotland) Regulations 2002, a registered daycare service must provide a minimum ratio of one adult to five children aged two years. Where children under two are present in the same group, the ratio for under-twos applies to the whole group.
Regulation of Care (Requirements as to Care Services) (Scotland) Regulations 2002, Schedule 2
Does a childminder in England need a written risk assessment before an outing?
Yes. The EYFS Statutory Framework 2024 requires providers to take all reasonable steps to keep children safe during outings. This includes a risk assessment before the outing takes place. The assessment must be recorded and available to Ofsted on request.
EYFS Statutory Framework 2024, Section 3.67
Ethical by design

Clariti assists
expression.
Not judgement.

Technology should support practitioners, not replace their professional judgement. Every document Clariti helps create carries a practitioner declaration confirming the content reflects their own observations. Every AI-assisted section is clearly identified. Because the person who was in the room is the only one who truly knows what happened there.

✍️
Practitioner sign-off on every document

Every generated document includes a declaration that the content accurately reflects the practitioner's own professional judgement.

👁️
Review before anything is saved

A mandatory review step on every observation and plan. The practitioner reads, edits and confirms before anything is finalised.

🏷️
AI suggestions clearly labelled

Where Clariti suggests content for a blank field, it is visibly identified as a Clariti suggestion. Practitioners always know what they wrote and what was generated.

📋
Policies require a named approver

Every generated policy must be reviewed and approved by a named manager. High-risk policies carry an explicit recommendation for professional review before adoption.
